Installing a temperature sensor into the oil pan

Installing a temperature sensor into the oilpan was not so easy. First I had to remove the steering center link, because the oilpan is above it. After that I could remove the oilpan. After cleaning everything I could start determine where the sensor should be mounted, so it is fully into the oil. After I drilled the hole I put in a big bolt and some washers and started hammering until the hole was facing downward.

Temp sensor installed

I used a special bolt with NTP thread inside, because I can not weld. The sensor was long enough to go well into the oil. I think I was lucky with this sensor, it was an extra long sensor which you can shorten if you like. I did not.

This is the outside, with a little rtv silicone under the hollow bolthead.
